The newest member of the HTC One family is here with a 5.9 inch 1080p display with front-facing BoomSound speakers. The phablet runs on a Snapdragon 600 chip similar to that in the regular HTC One. The battery inside is now a 3300 mAh and an optional flip case brings another 1150 mAh.

The HTC One Max also brings some new features including expandable storage and a fingerprint scanner. A removable SD card slot allows for up to 64GB of expandable storage. The fingerprint scanner is on the back of the phone in the shape of an awkward square beneath the camera. HTC says that you will be able to use the scanner to unlock the phone and launch up to three different applications based on different fingerprints you have stored. The sensor is very exposed and it’s durability is questionable.

The HTC One Max comes with an Ultrapixel camera and a 2.1 MP front facing camera. Also included is a new software release that brings the ability to remove Blinkfeed if desired and allows Blinkfeed to get information from sources such as Google+ and Instagram. The HTC One Max’s release dates will be announced by carriers soon.
