“Today we think we have the biggest step yet in delivering the vision”. The newest iPad will unexpectedly be called the iPad Air. It has a 9.7 inch Retina display with a dramatically smaller bezel and a much thinner profile. It is also lighter weighing in at only a pound. The design is very similar to the current iPad Mini. Apple says that “holding it will be a dramatically different experience”. The new tablet also includes an A7 chip, just like the iPhone 5S. Gizmodo states that you need to “forget the specs, it blows everything else away!”. The iPad Air has 8X faster performance and 72x faster graphics performance. It retains it’s 5MP iSight camera but gains a 1080p front-facing camera. It will be available for $629 for a 16GB model with WiFi and data or $499 for a 16GB WiFi only. The iPad 2 will live another year at the $399 price point. The new iPad Air will ship starting November 1st and be available in Space Gray and Silver & White.
