Not too long ago, rumors stated that we could see a refreshed Nexus 4 alongside the Nexus 5. This new Nexus 4 would cover the lower cost area of the Play Store and would perhaps have a slightly larger battery and LTE. The lack of LTE on the Nexus 4 was probably the number one flaw of the phone. In the SIG filing we see the date “October 24th, 2013” along with the model number LG-E960. That is the model number of the current Nexus 4. The phone was marked LGE LTE Mobile Phone.

With the addition of a low-cost Nexus 4 with LTE along with a slightly more expensive Nexus 5, the Nexus line could gain some serious traction in the Android market. This would be especially true if either phone worked on carriers such as Verizon or Sprint. We may soon find out as Google should be announcing these new phones any day now.
