Motorola’s entry-level phone, the Moto G, is now available in the U.S. The low-cost phone costs only $179 for the 8GB model and runs Android 4.3 with a guaranteed upgrade to KitKat. The U.S. version of the phone is optimized for U.S. networks but right now can only be used on AT&T and T-Mobile. CDMA and 4G LTE aren’t supported yet but a CDMA model is coming soon.
The Moto G is definitely an impressive little phone at an incredible price. For only $179 you get Android 4.3, interchangeable back covers, a 4.5″ 720p screen, and a great experience that rivals some flagships. Bottom line if you are on AT&T, T-Mobile, or some other small carriers that operate on GSM networks, this is a great phone for you, or a great gift for the kids.
You can purchase the Moto G directly from Motorola’s website and the device is set to begin shipping December 2nd.
