At an event today, Instagram annouced a new private messaging service that they call “Instragram Direct”. The new feature, which is rolling out to both iOS and Android users today, allows users to send photo, video, or text messages between each other privately. The reason they introduced this feature is that sometimes you “want to share not with everyone, but just a specific group”.Once you’ve taken and edited a photo you can choose to share it with up to 15 people, or just one. While each conversation needs to start with a photo, they can also include text and photos. Just like on Twitter, only people that you follow can send you photos and videos. This new feature is on it’s way to both iOS and Android devices so make sure to check for an update!
