Have you ever purchased a phone that didn’t have expandable storage, and then run out of space? One of the best features by far of phones like the Galaxy S4 and the —- is expandable storage through micro SD cards. Unfortunately other popular phones like the HTC One, the Nexus 5 and the Moto X don’t have this ability. Because of this you are limited to the amount of memory you get built into the phone. Sony is looking to change that with their new type of flash drive. This flash drive plugs into your phone and allows you to expand your phone’s storage by up to 32GB. It’s made Android-friendly (sorry iPhone users) and can be plugged into both a micro-USB port and a standard USB port. This comes thanks to it’s 2-in-1 design.

When connected to an Android, you’ll need to be on Android 4.0.3 or higher and have OTG (USB on-the-go) support. Most file managers on Android will work with the flash drive but Sony says that they will recommend a certain one with the device. Prices will be $19.99 for 8GB, $29.99 for 16GB, and $62.99 for 32GB. The devices will go on sales in Sony’s retail stores in January.
