The Mac Pro first went on sale early this morning and default configurations were advertised to ship by December 30th of this year. That quickly changed though and now new orders are listed to ship in February of this next year, with no further specifics. This suggests that Apple has already sold out of their allotment of Mac Pros. The February shipping date applies to the quad core and 6 core versions of the Mac Pro. A possible reason for the shortage could be that the Mac Pro is assembled entirely in the United States. Despite the fact that most customers will not receive their Mac Pro until next year, Apple technically met their goal of releasing the Mac Pro in December.
