The HTC One was one of the best phones of 2013, and hopes are high for this year’s updated model. What will HTC do to improve this already wonderful phone? On-screen buttons seems to be the path they are taking.

Leaks surrounding HTC’s M8 device are in no shortage showing off a possibly better camera, fingerprint scanner, a larger screen and more, but the latest leaks have caught our attention. Famous leaker @evleaks brought us just this morning the “confirmed” info that the HTC M8 will have on-screen navigation buttons like the LG G2 and the Nexus line. This would mark a huge movement in the industry since HTC and Samsung are a couple of the few large manufacturers that still use a non-standard button layout.  Google has been pushing on-screen navigation buttons since they were added to Android, but many manufacturer’s refuse to adopt them. The switch might also annoy those who feel that on-screen navigation waste’s precious screen real estate.

@evleaks also brought us some new wallpapers just last week said to come from the M8. You can view them down below.
