Since the Nexus 5 was announced we’ve been expecting it’s launcher, which we quickly dubbed the Google Experience Launcher to hit Google Play as a downloadable replacement launcher. After a few months that day has finally come. Google Now Launcher as it’s called has finally hit Google Play.

We all expected this to be for any Android device with Google Now, but unfortunately that’s not the case. Google is restricting the launcher to only Nexus and Google Play Edition devices running KitKat (or above). You can still get the Google Now Launcher on other devices via sideloading, but it’s unfortunate to see that Google wants to keep it as an exclusive for Nexus and Google Play Edition devices.
