Nintendo Closing Online Features On Wii And Some DS Models May 20th

If you still have your classic DS or DSi and haven’t picked up a 3DS yet, Nintendo is trying to let you know that it’s time. On May 20th, 2014, Nintendo is shutting down many of the features associated with the internet on those devices. This also applies for the original Wii console. Fortunately Nintendo won’t be affecting any offline features but online features like leaderboards, matchmaking, and most notably, online multiplayer. The 3DS and Wii U won’t be affected by this except for their backwards compatibility. If you use a Wii game on Wii U or DS game on 3DS the online features won’t work anymore.

Is this enough to make you upgrade to the Wii U or the 3DS? Let us know in the comments.
