After several leaks and rumors over the past few days, Samsung has officially announced the second iteration of the popular Samsung Chromebook. The new device packs highly improved specs over last year’s model and also two different screen size options.
Both models include an Exynos 5 Octo core chipset with 4GB of RAM and a 16GB SSD. Both also include a 720p webcam and USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports. The 11.6″ inch model has a 1366×768 display while the 13.3″ inch model packs a full HD 1920x1080p display. The 11.6″ inch model will be available in Jet Black and Classic White while the 13.3″ inch model will be available in Luminous Titan Gray. All three also include the faux leather design first seen on the Note 3.
Samsung surprisingly included pre-loaded software such as Air Droid Premium and Wunderlist Pro just to name a couple. Both the 13.3″ inch and 11.6″ inch models will be available for purchase at retailers in April for $319 (11.6″) and $399 (13.3″).
What do you think of these new additions to the Chromebook family? Personally I wish they had swapped the Exynos processors for Intel after seeing the performance difference on the Samsung Series 3 and Acer C720. Let us know your opinion in the comments.
