It looks like Comcept has come a long way with the development of Mighty No. 9. Back in September 2013 during their Kickstarter campaign, the company posted a short proof-of-concept video on their update page. From what began as basic character models and animations, Mighty No. 9’s graphical design looks fantastic for a pre-alpha build, even with placeholder levels.

The latest trailer also shows off a lot of the Megaman influence. The player character, Beck, looks to control very similar to Megaman’s jump-and-shoot style. This build also incorporates other features that Beck has, like a dash ability and a ground stomp that can destroy stunned enemies and traverse obstacles.

As the trailer runs, concept art for the bosses of the game, Mighty No. 1 – 8, appears on the screen with details of the characters. Each of these bosses will have unique abilities that will affect the design of their respective levels as well as the boss battles. This also provides a little of the backstory for Beck and his relationship with the other Mighty Numbers.

Mighty No. 9 is currently scheduled to release in Spring 2015. With its Kickstarter funding of around $4 million, Comcept has been able to meet all of the project’s platform stretch goals. The game will be releasing on PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, PS3, Xbox 360, Vita, 3DS, PC, Mac, and Linux.
