HTC finally released their newest flagship, the HTC One M8, today and in the official press release they outed the Google Play Edition of the device. The device is available for pre-order today (although we aren’t sure where) and will be available in the coming weeks on Google Play. Unfortunately the price will still be high at $699 similar to other Google Play Edition phones.

If you’re unfamilar with Google Play Edition devices then you’ll need to know that they are basically the best hardware on the market with stock software on board and Nexus-like updates. The GPE HTC M8 will come with Stock Android 4.4.2 on board out of the box instead of Sense 6.0.

“For those who prefer the stock Android experience, the HTC One (M8) Google Play edition will be available for pre-order from today and for purchase on the Google Play store in the coming weeks.”
