We are all waiting in anticipation of the OnePlus One to be revealed on April 23rd, but today we were greeted with a brand new look at the CyanogenMod Build coming on the device. As you probably know, the OnePlus One runs CyanogenMod out of the box. The company has been teasing specifications, features, and even elements of the design, but they haven’t actually shown us anything yet.
Engadget uncovered the screenshot seen above from a “reliable tipster”. The screenshot reveals a few things about the phone we didn’t know for sure or didn’t know at all. First of all, we see that the phone will indeed have on-screen soft keys for navigation, a welcome sight. Second we see that the phone will be running Android 4.4.2, or CyanogenMod 11, out of the box. However this isn’t a pure version of CyanogenMod. This version has been modified specifically for OnePlus, and quite a bit more than we had hoped.
The new build is dubbed CyanogenMod 11S. It also brings a new lock screen which lacks the usual slider and reminds us a little of the Windows Phone 8 lock screen. It shows the time, a picture, weather, battery level, and as far as we can tell, an RSS feed.
