We’ve all seen the Chromecast as it becomes ever more popular. Google has been strong lately supporting the dongle and now they are giving it a small update which might make the device a little more pleasant to use.

Google’s changelog is listed below.

  • Bug fixes and stability improvements
  • Chromecast audio volume level is retained across sessions
  • Improved IPv6 support
  • Improved DNS

These changes should make for an overall better experience. Adding improved volume will definitely be a nice addition for those who keep their TVs on full volume and control the volume simply with the Chromecast. For example if you’re TV’s volume is set to 75% and the Chromecast is set to 60%, it will no longer default back to 100% upon the next session.

The update is currently rolling out to all device and should be on all devices by the end of the week.
