There a few different types of Android users, but one that almost all of them have in common is the joy of customizing their homescreen the way they want it. The easiest way to do that is with the help of icon packs. What is an icon pack? It’s simple, an icon pack is a set of icons that, when applied with a launcher, can drastically change the look of your home screen. There are thousands of them out there, but over the past couple days I’ve been able to enjoy a new one that I can honestly say is one of my favorites.
“Domo” comes from well known developer kovdev who is known for his work with the ever popular icon pack “Stark”. This new pack brings a unique feel to the pack while keeping things classy. Each icon has a rounded square shape with a small raised bevel. The right half of each icon is darker than the left which actually looks quite nice. On top of that you will see a raised shape for the app’s logo or icon with a small drop-shadow. This pack will definitely appeal to people who likes a colorful, yet minimal look on their homescreen. At launch, 1,650 icons will be in the pack along with 20 wallpapers that fit extremely well with the icons. Personally my favorite wallpaper in the pack is the one you see in the screenshot to the left.
One thing I would like to note is that icons without a specifically designed icon mask actually still appear extremely nice. The look just like all the other icons simply without the drop shadow. While most of your apps will most definitely have a specific icon, some smaller and lesser known apps may not have icons but Kovdev is pretty good about updating his packs.
“Domo” is available starting today in the Google Play Store for $1.99. Go check it out at the link below.
