Samsung’s second attempt at the smartwatch has us interested not because of it’s design or functionality, but because it’s compatible with far more devices. Unlike last year’s Galaxy Gear, this time Samsung is making their new Gear line compatible with many more phones. Unfortunately however, they are still all Galaxy phones.

Last year the Galaxy Gear was only available with one phone (at launch), the Galaxy Note 3. Later on compatibility came to older phones such as the Note 2, S4, and more. With the Gear 2, Gear 2 Neo, and Gear Fit, Samsung is taking a better approach by making the watches compatible with 20 different Galaxy devices including 12 phones and 8 tablets.
