We’ve been hearing rumors and seeing leaks of the upcoming ASUS Chromebooks and they are looking promising. The two Chromebooks are aiming at low-power and low-specs to have high performance in another area. The C200, with an 11.6″ inch screen (seen below) is one we’ve seen before in leaks, but until now we haven’t known anything about the C200.
Let’s start off with the C200. This Chromebook, which will have the all too common 11.6″ inch screen, packs an Intel Celeron processor that instead of being in the Haswell generation, opts the for the newer and more powerful Bay-trail generation of chips. What’s great about this processor is the fact that it packs more processing power into a chip that is designed to run without a fan. Unfortunately ASUS opted to go with less RAM on this model only including 2GB of RAM.
- 11.6″ inch screen – 1366×768
- Intel N2830 Celeron – 2.16 GHz
- 2GB RAM
- 16GB SSD
Next up is the C300. This model packs a larger screen and better overall specifications. It packs the same chipset, but brings much more to the table is other places. A full spec list follows.
- 13.3 inch screen – Resolution unknown
- Intel N2830 Celeron – 2.16GHz
- 4GB RAM
- 32GB SSD
Release date is yet to be known but we can expect prices to fall around $260 for the C200 and $340 for the C300. What are your thoughts on these devices?
