We are all excited to see what LG has in store for the successor G2, the G3. The screenshots reveal a number of different things including new features, the new UI, and the screen resolution.
These screenshots come from GSMArena from a “credible industry source”. Overall the new interface looks much nicer with a flatter UI and redesigned icons. Like Samsung LG is going for this flat interface which is less cluttered and much more simple. The status bar is cleaned up thoroughly which is a welcome improvement. In the notification drawer, the quick settings have also been cleaned up with new rounded icons. the Q-Slide apps have also been cleaned up with new, flat icons. The notification drawer still seems just as busy, but it does look better.
On the first screenshot, you see a selection of text underneath the weather widget that reads “You may want to take an umbrella since rain is expected during this afternoon”. According to the source for these leaks, that is a new feature that provides personalized recommendations based on your daily routine.
If you’ll notice towards the bottom, the G3 will retain the soft keys that many of us love, but with a different twist this time around. The phone will have a back, home, and now recent apps button rather than the current menu button.
The last and probably most interesting part of this leak is that the screenshots have a resolution of 2560×1440. The size of the display is unknown but expected to be 5.5″ inches.
