The LG G2 began LG’s venture into the world of rear-buttons, and many people were intrigued by it. Some loved it, other hated it, but LG is showing no sign of stopping. LG has changed the design of the rear buttons of each new phone they’ve included it on, and it seems the G3 won’t be any different.
Some new leaks of third party cases give us a relatively good idea of what to expect with the size of these buttons and what surrounds them. It’s expected that the primary cutout will be for the camera, volume rocker and power button. Next to those are most likely an LED flash and microphone port. This is similar to what we see on the G Flex yet slightly more exaggerated with larger areas on the left and right. It’s unlikely that either side will encompass a fingerprint scanner, but a heart rate monitor is possible.
The case also reveals that the speaker on the device will no longer be on the bottom but instead at the back. It’s dissapointing to see that LG won’t be going for stereo speakers, but the thin bezels they are now known for should make up for that.
