Samsung has been working on Tizen for quite a while now as a new platform that could power basically everything the company makes, someday. Right now Tizen powers devices like cameras and even the latest lineup of Gear smartwarchtes. Samsung stated that the first Tizen smartphone would be coming by the end of the quarter, which meant we may not have seen it until June.
According to TizenIndonesia.com, the first Tizen phone will launch is Russia sometime in May. While that might not seem like a huge change from June, it is great to see this new platform seeing its debut sooner. The phone will launch in Russia first, followed by Brazil and other nations later on. Design wise this first phone is expected to look nearly identical to last-year’s Galaxy S4.
