Earlier this morning, Apple quietly updated their MacBook Air line with newer, faster Haswell chips inside. The 11-inch and 13-inch MacBook Air both have the slightly faster dual-core Intel Core i5 clocked at 1.4GHz. The battery has also seen a slight bump up in capacity giving approximately 1-2 hours of extra iTunes movie playback on each version of the device.

Along with this small spec bump, Apple has also knocked $100 off of the price of each model. This brings the starting price down from $999 to $899 for the 11-inch model and from $1,099 to $999 for the 13-inch model.

These new prices and configurations are available right now on the Apple store online (shipping within 24 hours) and in retail locations today.
