Last week LG announced their all new lineup of tablets with no further information on specs, pricing, or basically anything else about the devices. All we know is that 7″ inch, 8″ inch, and 10″ inch tablets are coming this month from the company. However new information from AnTuTu shows us that these might not be the high end tablets we were hoping for.
While last year’s LG G Pad 8.3 was powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor with 2GB of RAM and a 1080p display, this year’s crop is a substantial downgrade from that. Even though screen size is obviously smaller on this 7″ inch model, we didn’t expect the huge spec downgrade that we are now seeing.
The LG G Pad 7″ is expected to have the following specs based on new information from AnTuTu.
- Android 4.4.2
- Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 Processor
- Adreno 305 GPU
- 7″ inch display – 1280×800 pixels (720p)
- 3.2 MP Rear Camera
- 1.3 MP Front Camera
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB Storage
These specs are similar to that of the first Nexus 7 from 2012. This leads us to believe that the new G Pad line is trying to directly compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 4 lineup which is priced at $199, $269, and $349 respectively.
