Samsung has a tendency to release several variants of it’s flagship phone, and it’s seriously looking like the Galaxy S5 will be no different. We’ve seen rumors of upcoming variants like the Galaxy S5 Mini, Galaxy S5 Prime, and the Galaxy S5 Active. According to a new video however, that last one isn’t just a rumor anymore.
Last year Samsung released the Galaxy S4 Active on AT&T for those who needed a phone that could survive a drop in the pool, but it didn’t go over too well. The device didn’t have a good screen, it’s design wasn’t too great, and even the specs were toned down. Not to mention the fact that the device’s water resistance wasn’t always effective. Even though the standard Galaxy S5 packs an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, that isn’t stopping Samsung from releasing the S5 Active.
The leaked device follows the same guidelines as the previous Galaxy S4 Active but apparently with an improved design. The model shown off is obviously a pre-production model and no specific information is available yet.
