As the launch of Android Wear approaches, it’s first two hardware partners have begun teasing their devices. LG has revealed plenty of information regarding their G Watch, while Motorola has been slightly more subtle with their Moto 360. However today they have announced a contest for designers in which the prizes include the watch itself. But it’s the price mentioned that intrigues us.
According to Motorola’s official rules for the contest the ARV (Average Retail Value) of the Moto 360 will be only $249. That is well beneath the price tag we expected since Motorola is teasing a premium design and premium materials. While it’s not guaranteed that the watch will indeed cost only $249, it’s likely that it will be around that price.
Motorola also mentions in the rules that the winners of the contest will be notified on June 24th which could possibly be the release date of the watch. While that’s not guaranteed, it fairly likely that the watch will be released right around that date.
