We’ve seen it a couple times in leaks but now it’s offcial that HP will be releasing the Android-powered Slatebook 14 this August. Not to be confused with the company’s Chrome OS laptops, this device runs completely on Android. While it’s not the first time we’ve seen a device like this, it does seem like a pretty good offering as it does come with some pretty good specs.
- 14″ Inch 1080p Touchscreen Display
- NVIDIA Tegra 4 Processor – 1.8GHz
- 2GB RAM
- 16/32/64GB Storage
- 16mm Thin
- Beats Audio
- Android 4.3 Jelly Bean
There’s no information as to why Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is found on board this device rather than the newer Android 4.4 KitKat so we can only hope an update will be coming in the near future. HP is pricing this device at $399 and they have said that it will be available for purchase in August. They are marketing the device towards the back-to-school crowd for next year.
