They have finally done it. Samsung has finally launched their first ever Tizen powered smartphone called the Samsung Z. This phone brings the new OS underneath a 4.8 inch 720p AMOLED display. Powering all of that is a 2.3 GHz processor which is likely the Snapdragon 800 and 2GB of RAM.
Tizen version 2.2.1 is found on board which brings a slight redesign to the look of the OS but is still similar to what we saw before. Not unlike the Galaxy S5 the Z has a fingerprint scanner and heart rate sensor along with features such as ultra power saving mode. An 8MP camera is also included along with 16GB of storage expandable with a microSD card.
The Z will launch in Russia in Q3 heading to other markets in the coming months. Don’t expect the device to hit US or European shores however since they don’t think that those markets are ready for Tizen yet.
