Samsung Announces LTE-A Galaxy S5 With Quad-HD Display And Snapdragon 805 – Coming To A South Korea Near You

It was a bit surprising (although it really shouldn’t have been) when Samsung announced the Galaxy S5 with such a minor bump from last year’s Galaxy S4. Many people were very dissapointed that the device would carry only a 1080p display and would only be a little larger than last year’s. Most were expecting Samsung to race to the first wide-released 2K display, but they didn’t. At least, not at launch.

Samsung has just announced the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A as a new variant of the Galaxy S5 with some throughly improved specifications from the base model. Let’s look at a rundown of those specs.

  • 5.1″ Inch AMOLED Display – 2560×1440 – 575ppi
  • Snapdragon 805 Processor – 2.5 GHz
  • Adreno 420 GPU
  • LTE-A Connectivity
  • 32GB Internal Storage – 3GB RAM
  • 16MP Rear Camera
  • 2MP Front Camera
  • IP67 Water & Dust Resistance
  • Android 4.4.2 KitKat + TouchWiz Skin
  • 2,800 mAh Battery .

Samsung has said that they have no plans to bring this device to a global market.
