Just a few months ago Google bought Nest for $3.2 billion dollars, and now the company is buying another “smart” company, Dropcam. The Wi-Fi streaming video camera company was technically bought by Nest, but this acquisition will bring Dropcam into the ever expanding Google family. Dropcam will follow Nest’s business model that promises ads will not be coming in any way.
The acquisition is still subject to be altered but as of now Dropcam will get $555 million in cash. The deal also still has to go through U.S. regulations and closing conditions.
