Panicking Citizens Flood Police With 911 Calls Because Facebook Is Down
Facebook went down last week for about an hour, but that didn’t stop people from panicking. Usage of other social networks spiked during that time, and apparently so did 911 calls to the Los Angeles County Police Department.
Residents were nervous that they had been cut off from Facebook had 911 on their speed dials along with the standard number to the police department itself. Calls came flooding in during the outage and forced the department to send out a Twitter message to remind residents that Facebook is not a law enforcement issue.
Could you go a day without Facebook or another social network of your choice? Leave a comment and let us know!
#Facebook is not a Law Enforcement issue, please don't call us about it being down, we don't know when FB will be back up!
