The Butterfly is a line of phones from HTC that actually isn’t popular in the US, for obvious reasons: it isn’t available here. The full name of the phone is the J Butterfly HTL23 for Japan but also named the Butterfly 2 for the rest of Southwest Asia.
One thing that attracts to this phone is that it’s water-resistant. Water-resistance is increasingly more important these days. But something that lacks with the Butterfly is the fact that it isn’t made of metal, like the HTC One M8.
Here are the main specifications for the device:
- Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 Processor – 2.5 GHz – Quad-Core CPU
- 16 or 32 GB Storage with MicroSD Card Option
- 5″ 1080p LCD Display
- 13MP Camera
- 2700 mAH Battery
Many of these specs are similar to those on the HTC One M8 with an exception of the camera and plastic body. The Butterfly spreads its wings on September 2nd in Taiwan, and then heads to other Asian markets soon after.
