Acer has been rumored to launch a Chromebox for a little while now, and today they’ve made it official with the Chromebox CXI. Modeled after a small PC, this is the first time Chrome OS has officially been in this “mini-PC” form factor.

With an Intel Haswell Celeron processor at 1.4GHz and 2GB of RAM running the show this machine is just as capable as many other Chrome OS devices on the market already. Of course that’s just the base model. Options with 4 or 8GB of RAM will be also be available. The machine has 4 USB ports as well as HDMI, DisplayPort, Ethernet, and an SD card reader. WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 are also built in. 16GB of SSD storage is also built in.
The device will be available next month in the US and Canada at major retailers. The base model will be $179 with the 4GB model coming in at $219. Pricing for the 8GB model has not been announced. That pricing includes a bundled keyboard and mouse.
