Huawei has been teasing their upcoming IFA announcements, and the focus is expected to be the Ascend Mate 7. If these teasers haven’t been enough, how about a quick look at the phone? This is the third generation of the Ascend Mate lineup, so we have no idea why it’s called the Ascend Mate 7. The previous Ascend Mate 2 had a 6 inch 720p display and a massive battery as the highlights. This next model is expected to make a few upgrades and add a couple new features.
Specs are expected to include a 6″ inch full HD (1080p) display on the front with some extremely thin surrounding bezels. Around the back is a 13MP camera. Inside we are expecting a octa-core Kirin 920 SoC. The rest of the specs have yet to leak out. Beneath the camera however, we see a fingerprint scanner. While this isn’t our favorite way to implement a fingerprint scanner, it should get the job done. Does it look familiar? That’s because it’s almost identical to the one seen on last year’s HTC One Max. Huawei is planning an event next week at IFA and we can expect to learn everything else the new device will have to offer.
