Last month Sony unveiled the Xperia Z3 to the public at IFA. Soon after, T-Mobile announced the device for their network. Sony’s presence in the US has never been heavy, so we were all happy to see “The Uncarrier” pick up their latest flagship. However that’s not the end of Sony’s presence in the US this year.
First of all, it seems like the Xperia Z3 Compact could be joining the Z3 on Team Magenta. That information is based off of a response from T-Mobile on Twitter regarding the handset. A user asked about availability and T-Mobile responded to “keep an eye on our newsroom”. Their plans seem pretty clear to me.
Besides that, we might just see these phones on other carriers such as Verizon and AT&T. Sony is hosting an event in New York next week and were all thinking, and hoping, that they will discuss US availability of these phones. Worst case, we will be looking at release dates for T-Mobile’s variants. The question remains though, if Sony brought their phones to the US, would you buy them?
