Rumors have been swirling around the “inter-webs” about the possibility of a new iPad featuring a large 12.9-inch display, and while we haven’t really gotten any substantial evidence regarding this rumor, one report from Digitimes brings some credibility to the rumor.
According to Digitimes, supply chain sources claim that Apple has not one, but two 12.9-inch iPads in development. They further mention that one of those iPads in development is featuring an integration of both iOS and OS X.
Digitimes further says that sources pointed out that some software features on OS 10.10 Yosemite, resemble some features found in iOS. Examples include the Calendar, Phone Function, and Notification Center.
It is still unclear if such a tablet will ever come to market, despite rumors saying we could expect a release date sometime in 2015. But those are only rumors, and we won’t know for certain until Apple actually makes an announcement.
Since Apple has released press invites for an event on Oct. 16th, it is quite possible that they could announce something concerning the 12.9-inch iPad, but the chances of that ever happening are very rare.
