Google Play Now Accepts Movie Pre-Orders – US Only

1 min read

Google last night started accepting movie pre-orders via the Play Store so you can now place a pre-order either from your Android device, or from a computer. Once you pre-order a movie, you’ll be able to watch it on the day it releases to Google Play, and you won’t get charged until then either.

For right now, the list of available movies includes titles like “Guardians of the Galaxy”, “Maleficent,” “Lucy”, “Gone Girl”, “The Maze Runner”, and others – with lots more to yet to come. All the movies that you have pre-ordered will be on your “My Movies” library, each with the latest information about them. Unfortunately, only customers in the US can pre-order movies via Google Play, but this will be available to more countries soon, although Google didn’t really say which country’s this feature will be available in. You can cancel a pre-order at any time.

Do you guys think this will be useful? Or will this be a…as many people will say it, a flop.
