We’ve all been wondering since the announcement of Android L what it would be called. As tradition goes, we all expected yet another dessert name and it seems that we will get Lollipop. We’ve heard many others including Licorice, Lemon Meringue Pie and more, but according to a screenshot found in the Chromium issue tracker, we will be getting Lollipop.
Update: The issue tracker has since been deleted
Over course this comes with a grain of salt as we’ve seen this type of leak before and last time it was completely wrong. Nonetheless it looks pretty legitimate to me. Up in the status bar we see the USB debugging icon in the shape of a lollipop. In previous versions of Android the debugging icon matched the name of the Android version.
So what do you think? Is Android “Lollipop” the right way to go? Let us know in the comments!
