Google Makes Nexus 6, Nexus 9, And Nexus Player Official – Pricing And Availability

Google has today finally unveiled the latest Nexus devices including the Nexus 6, Nexus 9, and Nexus Player. Each of these devices comes with the latest software, Android 5.0 Lollipop. Let’s start with the Nexus 6.

The Nexus 6 is Google’s biggest smartphone release to date with a 6-inch Quad-HD display. The Motorola built device also packs a 13MP camera with OIS and a metal frame. It’s obvious to see that this device is just a blown up Moto X, and that’s not a bad thing at all. Powered by a Snapdragon 805 processor this has plenty of muscle. The phone also has 32 or 64GB of internal storage and a 3,220 mAh battery to get you through the day, if not more. The device will be available for pre-order on October 29th and will be available on T-Mobile, AT&T, Sprint, US Cellular, and wait for it, Verizon. Pricing starts at $649.

Next let’s talk tablets. The Nexus 9 comes into the game with an 8.9″ inch display with a 4:3 ratio and a QVGA resolution (2048×1536). It’s made by HTC which means two glorious things right off the bat, aluminum and front facing speakers. The device has a NVIDIA K1 processor inside. RAM is at 2GB. You can get it with 16 or 32GB of internal storage as well. A 6,700 mAh battery gives the device power. As for colors we can choose between black, white, and gold (yes seriously gold). A keyboard cover is also going to be available. The device will go up for pre-order on October 17th for $399 and will go up to $599 for the 32GB LTE model.

Next let’s talk about the Nexus Player. At I/O Google made the announcement of Android TV and now the Nexus Player is the first device to have it. The device packs a 1.8GHz Intel Atom processor and a separate remote with voice search. A game controller is also an optional addition. The box is made by ASUS and will be available for pre-order October 17th. Pricing is $99 and the game controller is an additional $39.
