It’s no secret that the Xbox One isn’t doing as well sales-wise as the PlayStation 4. After a shaky start and dropping the mandatory Kinect, the console has been doing better. Now with the ever-profitable holiday season around the corner, it looks like Microsoft will be pulling out the big guns.
Major Nelson announced through his blog that starting this Sunday, the Xbox One will be priced at $349 in the United States. Special bundles will also be discounted by $50 during this time period, including the Sunset Overdrive, Assassin’s Creed, and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare bundles.
This discount isn’t a permanent price drop and will end on January 3rd. Even so, this will likely result in a huge boost for the console being competitively priced right between the Wii U and the PlayStation 4. These consoles still need games to make it worthwhile, and the current lineups are pretty strong on all skews.
So what do you think? Does this make the Xbox One worth picking up, or is there still not enough of a reason yet? Either way, this will make for an interesting holiday season for the console industry.
