Google’s Chromebooks have been gaining traction all over the world, but now Google is opening the floodgates to a whole new country, Japan. Until now Chromebooks have only been available in Japan to enterprise channels. Now anyone in the country can pick up a Chromebook directly through Google as well as through online and brick-and-mortar retailers.
This change takes effect on November 13th and at launch will apply to the Acer C720 and Dell Chromebook 11. Other devices have yet to be released in the country. ASUS however has two of their Chrome devices, the ASUS C300MA Chromebook and ASUS Chromebox, headed to Japan in December.
