Acer Announces World’s First 15.6″ Inch Chromebook – Starting At $249

Just ahead of CES officially starting, Acer announced their latest addition to their Chromebook family. The Acer Chromebook 15 takes after the design of the Chromebook 13, announced earlier this year. There are several hard configurations available including using an Intel Celeron or i3 processor, 2GB or 4GB of RAM, 16GB or 32GB of storage, or a 1366×768 or 1920×1080 display. Something that is hidden in the press details is the addition of upward facing speakers which should provide a nice boost in sound quality.



Acer also mentions that the device will sport a rugged outer casing to better protect the device from damage. The casing is said to be capable of taking up to 60kg of force without damage.
