Alcatel OneTouch previewed their new smartwatch last week ahead of CES 2015 and it looked pretty cool then, but now that we have more details, it’s even more impressive.
First of all, this is not an Android Wear smartwatch. It’s Alcatel OneTouch’s own OS. That’s a benefit since it allows the watch to work outside of the Android platform. Today it was confirmed that this watch will work with any Android phone running version 4.3 or above, and also any iPhone running iOS 7 and up. That makes it a pretty great option for cross-platform users.
The watch has a 210 mAh battery inside that is claimed to get up to two and half days of use on a charge. The device has a built in heart rate monitor, accelorometer, gyroscope, and altitude meter. It’s also IP67 water and dust resistant.
The device will come in 4 variants (pictured above) and start at $149. You’ll need to choose wisely when you buy however, because the strap isn’t replaceable. Availability has yet to be confirmed, but this should definitely be a promising product.
