LG G Flex 2 Breaks Cover Ahead Of Official Announcement And It’s Just As Awesome As We Hoped
Just ahead of LG’s expected announcement, the LG G G Flex 2 has broken cover. Of course some of the details below could change by the time LG makes the device official, but for the most part everything here looks completely legit.
Just like we expected, the LG G Flex 2 sports a curve similar to the one found on the original G Flex which provides for great ergonomics. One of the issues many had with the first G Flex was it’s sheer size. At 6″ inch, that was a bit big for most. This time LG opted for a more pocketable 5.5″ inch P-OLED display. They even brought full 1080p HD to this model, a welcome improvement over the 720p in the original.
Under the hood the G Flex 2 has Qualcomm’s newest silicon, the 64-bit Snapdragon 810 alongside 2GB of DDR4. Users will be able to pick from either 16 or 32GB of internal storage with the option to expand.
Around back the G Flex 2 will have a 13MP camera with OIS and Laser Auto-Focus which should provide for pretty good shots just like on its older brother, the G3. The front camera comes in at 2.1MP. Keeping with the back, this is still the same LG so we have our power and volume buttons on the backside. Also on that back is LG’s self-healing coating which we should be just as impressed with as we were last year.
The G Flex 2 should be available in South Korea as soon as the end of this month, expanding to the rest of the world soon after. The device will be available in both Platinum Silver and Flamenco Red. Pricing and carrier availability have not seen yet.
LG is expected to tell us more about the G Flex 2 later today, so stay tuned for that. But with what you’ve seen so far, would you buy this phone? It’s certainly a contender for me. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
