It seems autonomous driving was all the rage this year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, with many car makers showcasing their vehicles with self-driving features. But one manufacturer definitely takes the cake at showing us, not just a car with style, but a car from the future. During the show, Mercedes-Benz unveiled the F 015 Luxury in Motion concept vehicle. A self-driving car that is absolutely stunning in every way.

The design of the car is just plain gorgeous. With a low-slung front end, streamlined roof line, and a front wide-screen, Mercedes-Benz put it best by saying that the “vehicle body has a pronounced and attractive shape”. And attractive it is. The bold and extravagant design, gives the F 015 a futuristic look and elegant form-factor.

Inside the F 015, things only get better. With organic materials such as open-pore walnut wood, white nappa leather, and of course, metal and glass surfaces; the interior is a sight all in itself. Six-displays are also installed in the instrument panel, rear and side walls. Mercedes-Benz says “passengers will be able to interact intuitively with the vehicle, by means of gestures or by touching the high-resolution screens”.

Of course, the main headliner on the inside, are the 4 rotatable lounge chairs, that allow the driver to interact and come face-to-face with the back-seat passengers; transforming the inside of the vehicle  into a lounge-like living space. So now I can play cards with my buddies while heading up to the beach.

The front and back of the car features large LED displays and a laser-projection system, allowing the F 015 to communicate with its surroundings visually as well as acoustically, through sounds and spoken instructions.

Mercedes-Benz says the electric hybrid system has a total driving range of 1,100 kilometers or roughly 700 miles on electricity and battery power, providing a zero-emissions experience throughout.

While there is no word as to when the Mercedes-Benz F 015 Luxury in Motion vehicle will be available, we will be very excited when it does. For now, all we have are these impressive images of what just could be the car of tomorrow.
