Just last night we wrote an article about Motorola saying that Android Lollipop would begin hitting 1st and 2nd generation Moto devices “very soon.” Now, this morning, some 2014 Moto G owners are reporting that their devices are receiving an update to Android 5.0.2 over-the-air.
This comes as great news for Moto device owners as it appears that the Android Lollipop rollout has finally started. The only downside to this is that the rollout appears to be happening extremely slowly. As of now, there are only a few users online who are reporting that their Moto G’s are receiving the update. It seems that the update is slowly rolloing out to secong generation Moto G’s and no other Moto devices just yet.
Android Lollipop has been slow to rollout to any device that it has hit so far. This is due to the amount of bugs and “jankyness” that Android Lollipop contains at this early point in its lifetime. That combined with the fact that Android Lollipop is a major update makes it hard for developers to get the update working on their devices.
Drop us a comment and let us know if your Moto device has received an Android Lollipop update, we would love to know!
