As always we’re going to take things with a grain of salt, but this might be our first look at HTC’s One M9. New images posted by NowhereElse show off the front and back of the highly anticipated device. The design is identical to the One M8 is a lot of ways, and that’s not at all a bad thing.
The device has the same metal body with a rounded design on the back. Everything is exactly the same on the back as it was on the M8, but with one obvious change, the camera. It’s got a new shape and that may be because of the rumored changes to the on-board camera. Last year we had an Ultrapixel camera, but this year things are rumored to take on a 20.7MP camera. We’re not sure if the Duo camera will make a return since the top of the device isn’t shown.
Flipping the phone over we see another familar face as the front also looks very similar to last year. The size of the bezels appears to have shrunk just a little bit, but overall everything is pretty much the same. The Boomsound speakers make a return along with the HTC logo in the chin. The device is rumored to bring a 5-inch, 1080p display just like last year.
Overall the HTC M9 is looking pretty good, but will a carbon copy of last year prove successful for HTC? Well, guess we’ll have to wait and find out. The M9 is expected to be announced at an HTC event on March 1st just before MWC. Stay tuned for full coverage of that.
