[PLOT TWIST] HTC Might Be Using Decoy Phones To Hide The Final Design Of The HTC One M9

By now we’ve likely all seen the leaks of the upcoming HTC One M9 and we’ve all be pretty underwhlemed design. It’s a great design, don’t get me wrong, but’s it’s pretty much identical to what is on the HTC One M8. However it seems that the leaks may have had it wrong and HTC is in fact going for something different. So why in the world are we seeing this mysterious HTC phone leaked? Because that’s exactly what HTC wants us to see.

According to Evan Blass of HTCSource (yes you are thinking of the right guy), HTC has been taking the internals of the one M9 and dumping them into these decoys to keep the real design a secret. However that didn’t stop everyone’s favorite neighborhood leaker from giving us a little insight into what HTC really has planned.

Our source has revealed that the final design of the HTC One (M9) will feature an edge-to-edge glass panel on the front with the BoomSound speaker slits pushed to the top and bottom edges. The front-facing camera on the HTC One (M9) takes its design cues from the HTC Desire 826, featuring a large, centrally positioned lens above the display.

That’s not a ton of information to go on, but it does mean that we’ll be getting a brand new design on the M9 that isn’t just a redo of the M8. Are you more excited for this phone now? Let us know in the comments below!
