HTC’s One M9 is finally here and official. We’ve seen the leaks, been confused which one to trust, but it’s finally here. The device brings a familiar design, but with some massive improvements over last year’s One M8. Let’s start with the full specifications list.
- 5″ Inch 1080p SuperLCD3 Display
- 2 GHz Snapdragon 810 Processor – Octa-core
- 3GB RAM
- 32GB Internal Storage w/ microSD up to 128GB
- 20MP Rear Camera w/ Sapphire lens
- Ultrapixel Front Camera
- 2,840 mAh battery (non-removable)
- Android 5.0 w/ Sense 7 skin
Pretty impressive right? HTC has obviously learned from some of their past mistakes and brought us a phone for 2015 that should be very impressive. HTC has also ignored the trend of massive devices by giving us a 5″ inch display, but they’ve also kept it at only 1080p which should be great for battery life. The layout on the front of the device is pretty much identical to that of the HTC One M8 with two Boomsound speakers on the top and the bottom. Of course the “logo bar” has also returned to the complaints of many I’m sure.
One of the most appreciated changes for me is that HTC has finally moved the power button the to side of the device rather than the top with the volume keys below it. Of course one of the biggest changes is that the camera on the back is now a 20MP shooter rather than a Ultrapixel camera.
Software wise we’ve got Sense 7 with Android Lollipop underneath. This version of Sense is claimed to be the most customizeable to date with some theme customizations, custom Dot View case display options, and more.
Pricing and carrier details aren’t yet available, but you can expect this phone to land on all major US carriers at about $650 unlocked. Mid-March is the expected release date for this phone. The device will launch in gold (of course), pink, silver, and black.
