Samsung’s Unpacked 2015 event is currently happening at Mobile World Congress and of course the star of the show has just been shown…well, two stars of the show. Samsung has just unveiled their latest flagship Galaxy smartphone, the Galaxy S6. Alongside the Galaxy S6 is the S6 Edge, which is essentially the Galaxy S6 with the addition of two curved edged. Both the left and right side of the display are curved down the side of the S6 Edge.
So let’s talk specs. Both the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge have QHD Super AMOLED displays at 2560x1440p, that’s 577ppi. As for the cameras, the devices have a 5MP front-facing camera and a 16MP rear-facing camera. Both of these have been boasted as having fantastic low-light performance. The devices also have some pretty groundbreaking processors in them. Said processors are Samsung made and offers speed that blows all other smartphones currently on the market, out of the water. Something that Samsung has thankfully decided to keep and improve upon from the Galaxy S5 is the fingerprint scanner. Now, it is included on a bigger button and requires a simple tap as opposed to the previously irritating swipe. Oh, and did we mention that both of the devices support both wireless charging standards, out-of-the-box?
Something else that is very important in the new duo of Samsung smartphones is enhanced Samsung KNOX. Samsung has improved upon their security platform to offer the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge users “defense-grade” that protect against malicious attacks in real-time.
