Apple Is Getting Ready To Ship A 12-Inch MacBook Air

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple is currently preparing to ship their new, unannounced MacBook. Apple will supposedly be shipping the new 12-inch MacBook Air with a retina display in Q2 of this year. If Apple is really preparing to launch the new MacBook then that would mean that production of said device would already have to be largely underway.

So far there has only been one significant leak pertaining to this unannounced MacBook Air and that was back in January. Mark Gurman from 9to5Mac was the one who released a leak of the device and detailed that it would use a reversible USB Type-C port. Needless to say, if Apple has already been mass-producing this new MacBook for awhile then we are surprised that it has been kept under wraps this well up to this point.

If this new MacBook Air was to come to fruition, the big question we would have is about the existing MacBook Airs. Apple currently offers both an 11.6 and 13.3-inch model, this new Air is supposedly right in the middle at 12-inches. Would this mean that it will phase out the other two Airs? Or will it sit nicely in the Air product line? Only time will tell.
